Porcelain Crowns
Dental crowns are needed when teeth start to wear down, crack or break. This is due to a variety of factors such as teeth grinding, an improper bite, fillings, tooth decay and age. In these instances, a dental crown adds strength, stability, and durability to the affected tooth Teeth Whitening.

The most common porcelain crown restoration, placed by most general dentists today, utilizes a metal lining covered with porcelain. These types of restorations are not as natural in appearance because light is not able to pass through porcelain-metal crowns as it does with a natural tooth resulting in an opaque or flat looking tooth. Often times these types of traditional crowns leave a dark or gray line next to the gum line

At Smile Designers Dental Center, we are proud to offer a natural looking alternative – all-ceramic non-metal crowns! With these newer restorations, porcelain crowns, you will notice the “life-like” appearance that mimics natural teeth and does not produce the black gum line so common with so many porcelain-metal crowns

TMJ-Treatments
Many people suffer from TMJ and dont even know it is treatable.

“TMJ” stands for temporomandibular joint. The TMJs are the small joints in front of each ear that attach the lower jaw to the skull. They allow you to perform such functions as opening and closing your mouth, chewing, speaking and swallowing. In most cases, TMJ problems are manifested by pain in the muscles along with limitations in the ability to execute normal movements. If you suffer from this type of pain, TMJ treatment with neuromuscular dentistry may be the answer to your problems.

Finding your neuromuscular jaw position is the most important step in TMJ treatment and needs to occur before a final restorative/orthodontic phase is started. This is to prevent muscular imbalances that could lead to instability of the teeth, bone and posture. When the balance of the teeth, facial muscles, and temporomandibular joints is off , symptoms of what has been identified as TMJ/TMJD (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction) can arise.
Some symptoms of TMJ are:

  • Headaches
  • Neck/Shoulder aches
  • Jaw pain
  • Sensitive and sore teeth
  • Clenching of the teeth
  • Loose teeth
  • Facial pain
  • Worn down teeth
  • Ear congestion
  • Forward head posturing
  • Clicking/popping in the joints
  • Limited opening of the mouth
  • Tingling in the fingertips

If you are suffering from any of these painful symptoms, we can help. Please contact our team today to schedule a consultation and learn about our TMJ treatments.

Fortunately, new technologies are continuously fast emerging to continue making the dental implant a cost effective, permanent and patient-friendly dental option.

Implant procedures are designed to permanently replace one or more teeth without affecting the adjoining teeth, and are highly effective in providing support for a bridge, eliminating the need for a removable, partial denture. Dental implants are designed to provide a permanent solution for missing teeth They look, feel and function like natural teeth. A person with dental implants regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that their teeth appear completely natural and most importantly, are permanent.

Simply put, a dental implant acts as an artificial tooth root and consists of a small titanium post which is placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. The bone bonds with the titanium implant also called osseous integration, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. In addition to restoring the natural appearance of the mouth, dental implants can help preserve facial structure, preventing bone deterioration, which typically occurs when teeth are missing.
Dental implants look and feel so natural that you will even forget that you ever lost a tooth. Many patients are successfully undergoing unique dental implant techniques which provide them with the following benefits

  • A highly successful and cost efficient procedure with virtually no pain or trauma

Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening, or bleaching, is the top cosmetic procedure performed in America today. The teeth whitening process offered at Smile Designers Dental Center lightens discolorations on your teeth and creates a brighter smile. We can dramatically change the color of your teeth in about an hour.

Teeth whitening with ZOOM is ideal for treating discolorations on the enamel and dentin of your teeth. Stains from coffee, tea, and even smoking can be minimized or even eliminated in just one visit. Having your teeth whitened is one of the easiest ways to reinvigorate your smile and brighten your outlook. For more noticeable results, teeth whitening may also be combined with porcelain veneers, dental bonding, porcelain fillings, and other cosmetic dentistry services.

Dentures
Removable partial dentures are composed of a metal or plastic framework with plastic teeth and gum areas. The framework includes metal or plastic clasps or other attachments, which hold the denture in place.Partial dentures are removed easily for cleaning. There are various kinds of dentures that you and your dentist can discuss at your visit to Smile Designers Dental Center.

Dental Bridges
Dental bridges serve the same function as most any type of other bridge; they span a gap between two places.

Gaps left by missing teeth will cause the remaining teeth to shift into the empty spaces, resulting in a non-aligned or improper bite. This irregular bite can also lead to gum disease or joint disorders commonly called TMJ (Temporo Mandibular Joint).

Dental bridges are commonly used to replace one or more missing teeth. They span the space where the teeth are missing. Bridges are cemented to the natural teeth or dental implants surrounding the empty space.

These natural or implanted teeth, called abutments, serve as anchors for the bridge. A replacement tooth, called a pontic, is attached to the crowns that cover the abutments. As with crowns, you have a choice of materials for bridges.

Your dentist here at Smile Designers Dental Center, can help you decide which to use, based on the location of the missing tooth (or teeth), its function, aesthetic considerations and cost. Porcelain or ceramic bridges can be matched to the color of your natural teeth.

Dental Bonding
Dental Bonding is one of the basic cosmetic dental procedures we use here at Smile Designers Dental Center. It is used in both minor corrections of dental flaws as well as in, what we call Full Mouth Rehabilitation.

Dental bonding involves the use of a composite resin filling placed in the back teeth as well as the front teeth. These composites are often the best solution for basic tooth restoration but primarily are used in making improvements in reshaping teeth and giving them a beautiful appearance.

Basically, our Smile Designers Dental Center tooth bonding procedures will cover any natural flaws (or those caused by trauma) using composite resins, as above, then applying a thin coating of a plastic material on the front surface of your teeth to sculpt color and shape to provide a pleasing result. A high-intensity light then hardens the plastic and the surface is finely polished.

Inlays and Onlays
Dental inlays and onlays are restorations used to repair rear teeth that have a mild to moderate amount of decay. They can also be used to restore teeth that are cracked or fractured if the damage is not severe enough to require a dental crown. Inlays and onlays are usually made from porcelain, composite resin, and sometimes even from gold. Because they can be created from tooth-colored materials, inlays and onlays are often used to replace metal fillings for patients who desire a more natural looking smile.

Metal Free Fillings
When a new cavity needs a filling, the vast majority of our patients now choose tooth-colored composite fillings. Many of our patients also opt for the removal of their amalgam fillings and the replacement of these with composite fillings.

It is now possible to enhance your entire cosmetic appearance by ridding your mouth of unsightly silver fillings and replacing them with tooth-colored composite fillings. This simple procedure is an easy way to make a big difference in your smile.

White fillings, also known as composite fillings, restore decayed teeth and repair tooth defects, as well as provide a healthier treatment option than traditional silver amalgam fillings. Composite white fillings can be used on front or back teeth.

  • Tooth-colored composite fillings are also a safer, stronger, more attractive and more enduring alternative to metal.
  • There are many reasons to use composite fillings to replace silver fillings:
  • amalgam (silver) fillings can corrode and leave unsightly stains
  • composite fillings can be matched to the color of the tooth, and thus blend into the surrounding tooth structure
  • composite fillings are especially suited for small cavities
  • some people are allergic to amalgam fillings
  • composite restorations can be adhesively sealed (bonded) into the cavity, often allowing the dentist to make a more conservative repair to the teeth

Invisalign®
Invisalign is a series of clear, removable teeth aligners that both orthodontists and dentists use as an alternative to traditional metal dental braces. The aligners are completely transparent, therefore far more difficult to detect than traditional wire and bracket braces, you can take them off while eating and brushing, therefore they do not cause tooth decay like tradition braces

Gum Contouring
Healthy, well-contoured, pink gum tissue compliments and frames the teeth. The esthetic framing of the gum tissue is as important to the teeth as a quality frame is to a painting. Gum tissue that is red and swollen, and unsymmetrical in appearance detracts from teeth that are otherwise healthy. If your teeth look small our short gum contouring might be the solution. The cosmetic gum lift is a remarkably simple cosmetic procedure that can make a tremendous difference to one’s smile. Our in house team of gum specialists use the latest technics and technology to make it easy and comforting for you.

Porcelain Veneers
Why “instant” orthodontics? Thanks to modern adhesive technology, patients can achieve an improved smile without the use of braces. Patients with a mild to moderate crowding of the anterior teeth may be able to correct the problem with instant orthodontics using porcelain veneers.

Smile Designers Dental Center patients can have a straighter smile in as little as two weeks, instead of the three years that traditional braces may take.Porcelain veneers, can correct the alignment and color of patients’ teeth quickly, providing the desired results in record time.

Porcelain veneers (or dental veneers) are very thin, custom-made porcelain coverings fabricated to fit precisely over your existing teeth. In addition to a full smile makeover, porcelain veneers are the treatment of choice for a variety of other common problems, such as misaligned teeth, stained teeth, and broken or chipped teeth. Porcelain dental veneers can also be used to fill in gaps between teeth.

There are distinct advantages to the porcelain veneers used for instant orthodontics . They have exceptional color stability, allowing the porcelain dental veneers to blend naturally with a patient’s teeth and to retain that look. Porcelain veneers are also designed to last for years.

Full Mouth Reconstruction
As the name implies, full mouth rehabilitation enhances not only the look of your smile, but all that’s going on behind it; rehabilitating your teeth, gums and your bite.

To achieve this, Smile Designers Dental Center will carefully consider your every dental concern, then meticulously create a comprehensive dental treatment plan that will address each, leaving you with the smile of your dreams.
And behind this smile will be a rehabilitated mouth… one that functions optimally for years and years to come.

As we age, some of us will lose teeth due to disease, injury, or simple daily wear or suffer from oral health failure where the gums, teeth and bone can break down. In addition to bringing about unwanted changes to a person’s facial appearance, this can have a negative effect on that person’s confidence and self-esteem. This happens to many people.

Full mouth reconstruction is the use of many methods of dentistry to create the correct relationship between gums, bone, muscles, and teeth. The mouth is a complex machine; without a proper bite, chewing can become impaired, teeth can become worn, the jaw and neck can become sore, and even migraines can occur. Dental bonding, porcelain veneers and crowns, dental implants, and teeth whitening are all potential procedures used in a full mouth reconstruction – rehabilitation. The result is a perfect smile!

With full-mouth reconstruction the entire mouth is beautified with a more comfortable bite and less tension in the jaw and neck.
